EDITORIAL - Crease Issue 4
Each of the four artist/writer pairs and the four posters in Crease Issue 4 present a number of distinct and varied responses by the writers and artists to the collaborative situation they are in - even being seen together, as respondents, paired in the first place is a potential point of departure. We the editors became anticipators; pairing writers and artists in the first place raised certain anticipations even before the various collaborations took place. There was also the potential of the collaborative process between artists and writers who had never worked together before in this way, who were not necessarily paired in terms of sensibility or intimate knowledge of one another's process, nor approached the situation from similar positions, areas of knowledge and disciplines. Significantly there were anticipations of Crease in the hands of the reader; their ability to fold, cross, un-pair, reference, and assemble.
